HAPARANDA NYA BADHUS 2025

Material utifrån ett skissförslag för gestaltningsuppdrag som inte realiserades och som jag arbetat vidare på. Placeringen, ovanför fönstren längs rummets ena långsida, var given. Badhuset ligger i anslutning till skolan och många av besökarna i badhuset är skolbarn och ungdomar. 

Titeln Ranta, strand på meänkieli, syftar på Haparandas läge vid Torne älv. Längs fönsterväggens 28 meter finns former i olika storlek rytmiskt placerade.

Formerna är mjukt stiliserade, abstrakta bilder av växtlighet och älvens stränder. Färgerna är hämtade från Tornedalens flagga och landskpet men också från de färgglada redskap för simträning som kommer att finnas.

Materialen i skissen är anpassade för att hålla i den fuktiga miljön. Eftersom bygget av badhuset var så långt gånget när konstnärerna kom in i processen, var möjligheten att integrera konsten i byggnaden begränsade.

HAPARANDA CITY NEW PUBLIC BATH

Material based on a sketch proposal for a design assignment that was not realized and which I worked on further.

To place the art work above the windows along one long side of the room, was a given.The bathhouse is located next to the school and many of the visitors to the bathhouse are schoolchildren and young people.

The title Ranta, beach in the local language Meänkieli, refers to Haparanda's location by the Torne River. Along the 28 m window wall shapes of different sizes are rhythmically placed.The shapes are softly stylized, abstract images of vegetation and the river banks. The color scheme is picked from the Tornedalen flag, tha landscape but aslo from the colorful tools that will be there for swim practice.

The materials in the sketch are adapted to withstand the humid environment.Since the construction of the bathhouse was so far along when the artists entered the process, the opportunity to integrate the art into the building was limited.
